The National Gallery of Art is seeking applicants for a permanent, part-time (32 hours/week) professional position in the Library’s technical services department.
Librarian (Monographs Cataloger and Metadata Specialist) (GS1410-9)
The primary purpose of the position is to provide descriptive and subject cataloging, original and copy, for monographs in English and foreign languages. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for bringing vision and implementation to metadata projects that will expand access to all library collections, and to identify opportunities within relationships to other NGA collections and related collections of other institutions.
The incumbent contributes to the effectiveness and efficiency of the research and educational activities of National Gallery of Art by providing complete, accurate, and timely access to monographic publications in the Library’s collection, as well as enhancing existing descriptive access elements. The incumbent works collaboratively within the library to extend and enhance access to and augment connections between collection items.
